A Year To Remember…And One To Forget!

Welcome to 2018 Wholetonians!

A good friend of mine says, “Life would not be life without contrast.”  You see, without difficulty, we wouldn't know what “easy” looks like.  Without light, we wouldn't understand darkness.  To appreciate something big, you have to experience small.  And good is easy to spot in contrast to evil.  So after learning a life lesson through adversity, it is refreshing to forget the darkness of the past, and joyfully embrace the light of the future!

Philippians 3:13, “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myselfyet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining for what is ahead, I PRESS ON toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

The year 5777 on the Hebraic Calendar (2017) was called, “The year of the clashing swords” or “The Sword or the Plough.” And as advertised, 2017 was an extremely difficult and challenging year, to say the least. In fact, I was relieved to find out that it was not an isolated event that I was experiencing, but a global event experienced by a high percentage of humanity! It is amazing how adversity can either defeat you or help you grow. One of my favorite quotes is by Friedrich Nietzsche, “That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.” He was right! If you are reading this…you are still here, and stronger for it.

So, what will 2018 bring? When we observe the Hebraic calendar year, 5778…we see a year of redemption at the gate…yes, 2018 will prove to be a year of new beginnings, a “do over” (mulligan) fresh start. I kept getting the phrase, “you will receive double for your trouble” in my mind and thinking, “yep, I am going to have a great 2018 for sure!”

And speaking of, “new beginnings,” Wholetones will be making some major changes this year…and you will be the first to hear about them over the next few weeks, so stay tuned!!!

So, let’s forget about what held us back in 2017, and focus on what will get us ahead in 2018. Here is my three-step plan to get the most out of this epic New Year.

  • Intention a thing intended, an aim or plan. Intend to have the best year of your life, don’t settle for anything less.
  • Execution the carrying out or putting into effect a plan, order, or course of action. Acting on your intention is execution, the carrying out of your plan.
  • Transformation a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance, alteration or revolution. Executing your plan yields a miraculous dividend, transformation.

Lots of people have good intentions, also known as resolutions. There is a famous saying, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions,” You see a New Years resolution, or intention is useless without execution, so here is what I recommend…A New Year REVOLUTION! Here is the definition of the word, “revolution,” a sudden, complete or marked change in something or someone.

May 2018 be a year of personal transformation and redemption for you, your loved ones, and your business! Until next week…

Be Whole,

Michael S. Tyrrell
