No More Mr. Nice Guy!

Happy Tuesday, Wholetonians,

I hope this week’s email finds you excited about your future. There are two ways we can view our lives: looking in the rearview mirror, focused on the past, or gazing through the windshield, fixated on what’s ahead.

Friends, the future’s so bright, we’ll need to wear shades! Believe me, I wasn’t always an optimist … but then I discovered a powerful secret—we become what we say we are. Positive people live positive lives and negative, pessimistic people live negative lives. Just like the terminals on a battery, the positive pole gives while the negative pole takes. Why do you think positive people attract others, while negative people repel others?

What frequency are you transmitting? Your answer will help you understand the ups and downs of your life. Words are so very important, which brings me to our weekly musing, “No More Mr. Nice Guy.”

I used to think that being “nice” and being “kind” were synonymous. A closer examination of these two words revealed a powerful truth: they are NOT the same at all! To be nice, one is often subtle, cunning, and clever, winning people over with compliments or niceties in order to achieve a goal. Politicians try to appear nice in order to win votes. Note: the word “nice” does not appear anywhere in scripture! However, the words “kind” or “kind hearted” appear many times (45 times to be exact) in the Bible. Perhaps this definition of the word will explain my point!

Definition of kind

unnamed (1).jpg

a : of a sympathetic or helpful nature was helped by a kind neighbor They were very kind to us.

b : of a forbearing nature : gentle kind treatment of animals

c : arising from or characterized by sympathy or forbearance a kind act, a kind smile

d : of a kind to give pleasure or relief cooled by a kind breeze, chiefly dialectal : affectionate, loving.

Colossians 3:12, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Now, maybe my initially offensive title for this week’s musing is beginning to make sense! You see, I have no desire to be a nice guy; instead, I exist to be a kind hearted soul who is motivated by love and dedicated to developing healing modalities that help people live a better life.

Kindness was the impetuous behind the creation of Wholetones, and prayerfully, it is making a positive difference in each of your lives. I cannot tell you how many testimonials I read where people tell me that no matter how tough their day was, when they turn on the “Tones,” it immediately brings them peace!

Just today, I was able to call a precious woman who had problem that was causing her anxiety. Before I hung up with her, she said, “I can’t even remember what was upsetting me, I feel totally different!” The Bible says, “a kind word, turns away wrath.” Remember, words are frequencies, too. We have the ability to speak life to each other … now that is powerful.

I cannot tell you what an honor it is to write to you each week, and to call you friends. If one thing I say, sing, or create, makes a positive impact on a single soul, it is all worth it! So, no more nice guys! Let’s instead endeavor to be kind to everyone, and in doing so, make a difference in the world.

Until next week, be kind to someone who is hurting and watch what happens!

Be Whole,

Michael S. Tyrrell
